Rebekah SM Angove, PhD, is a nationally recognized public health leader specializing in patient-centered research engagement and design. As Chief Science Officer, Dr. Angove provides strategic oversight and practical leadership to a portfolio of data, research and evaluation projects designed to improve the patient experience and impact of Patient Advocate Foundation’s direct services. Dr. Angove is the founding Executive Director of the organization’s Patient Insight Institute which focuses on ensuring that healthcare change is informed by the whole patient experience by partnering with research, healthcare, and policy leaders to generate patient-centered evidence and integrate the patient perspective into projects. In her roles, she helps Patient Advocate Foundation to identify patient needs, translate those needs to direct services and policy recommendations, and evaluate the impact of these programs and services on patients and the patient community. 

Prior to her work at Patient Advocate Foundation, Dr. Angove served as Engagement Director for a PCORnet CRN, where she focused on creating capacity for and expanding stakeholder engagement in biomedical research. PRO collection, refinement, and utilization in PCOR/CER was central to her work, specifically working as a bridge between patient communities, researchers, and community clinics/FQHCs to develop patient-centric, clinic-based research protocols. Dr. Angove has contributed her expertise to numerous clinical research programs, advisory groups, and partnered projects focused on addressing the non-medical needs of patients. She received her PhD in Public and Community Health in 2014 from the Medical College of Wisconsin; Milwaukee, WI. 

A sought-after speaker and collaborator, she bridges the gap between patient needs and system-level solutions to improve outcomes and elevate the patient experience across the healthcare continuum.
