TotalAssist and new grants

All new grant applications will be through TotalAssist

On July 1, 2026, Patient Advocate Foundation launched TotalAssist, the nation’s largest charitable patient assistance program. All new financial assistance applications at Patient Advocate Foundation will be through our TotalAssist program.

How TotalAssist can help you

  • The great news is that TotalAssist includes nearly 150 disease-specific and health equity financial assistance funds—from cancer and rare diseases to chronic and complex illnesses.
  • TotalAssist allows patients to apply their grant toward multiple out-of-pocket healthcare costs, including medication copays, coinsurance, and deductibles, health insurance premiums, office visit charges the day of treatment, and administration charges related to treatment.
  • Financial assistance through TotalAssist is not a loan or discount, but is charitable funding awarded to individuals to help with eligible out-of-pocket healthcare expenses.

Case management services

In addition to offering financial assistance through TotalAssist, Patient Advocate Foundation also offers free, one-on-one support to patients and families through our case management services. Through these case management services, including our CareLine case managers, we help people solve real-life problems related to serious health conditions.
