Turn your passion for better healthcare into impact

Patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, advocates, and community members can all play a role in improving the healthcare experience for others.

The Patient Advocate Foundation / National Patient Advocate Foundation Grassroots Ambassador Network is a program that offers meaningful ways to connect people with trusted resources and bring patient and caregiver perspectives into healthcare conversations. Your lived experience is all that’s required. You do not need to be an experienced healthcare advocate or policy expert to make an impact.

Explore ambassador opportunities

The Grassroots Ambassador Network offers two tracks to get involved, with multiple ways to engage within each track. You can participate in one or both based on your interests, experience, and availability.

Track 1: Patient Advocate Foundation Community Impact Ambassadors

Help connect communities with trusted information, resources, and support.

Community Impact Ambassadors raise awareness of Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF) patient services and programs. They also share PAF information and resources with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and communities. PAF will provide the education, approved materials, and resources you need to feel prepared.

Opportunities may include:

  • Sharing PAF information and resources with your network, in your communities, and on social media or other digital channels
  • Participating in educational webinars, trainings, and learning opportunities
  • Sharing your lived experience through storytelling, speaking engagements, or media opportunities coordinated or reviewed by PAF
  • Providing feedback on PAF programs and educational resources
  • Bringing patient and caregiver perspectives to events and research projects
  • Helping PAF better understand the needs and healthcare access barriers affecting your community

Track 2: National Patient Advocate Foundation Policy Ambassadors

Help bring patient and caregiver perspectives into healthcare policy.

Policy Ambassadors work with the National Patient Advocate Foundation, PAF’s sister advocacy organization. Policy Ambassadors help ensure that healthcare policy conversations reflect the experiences and needs of patients and caregivers. NPAF will provide information, guidance, and tools to help Policy Ambassadors participate.

Opportunities may include:

  • Sharing your lived experience through storytelling, speaking engagements, or media opportunities coordinated or reviewed by NPAF
  • Bringing patient and caregiver perspectives to events and research projects
  • Engaging with policymakers and partners about NPAF’s policy priorities
  • Responding to action alerts
  • Helping create grassroots advocacy tools and resources
  • Sharing content on social media

Together, we can better support patients and caregivers

Your voice matters. Your community matters. Your involvement can have an impact.

You can choose opportunities that fit your interests, comfort level, and availability. There is no expectation that you participate in every activity.

Whether you share a resource, provide feedback, participate in an event, or add your perspective to a healthcare conversation, your involvement can help patients and caregivers feel more informed, supported, and heard and help us work toward a healthcare system that works for everyone.
