Kevin L. Hagan
Kevin L. Hagan is the current President and CEO of the PAN Foundation and the incoming CEO of Patient Advocate Foundation (effective July 1, 2026), the nation’s most comprehensive nonprofit dedicated to helping patients navigate, access, and afford their care while improving the healthcare system for those who need it most. As incoming CEO, he will oversee the organization’s comprehensive portfolio of programs, including direct financial support for patients, personalized case management, award-winning patient education, patient advocacy and engagement programs, rigorous research, health equity initiatives, and community engagement. With over 30 years of experience in executive leadership and management in national and global nonprofits, government, and the private sector, Kevin is a visionary leader helping to expand access to care for millions of people.
Kevin has served as President and CEO of the PAN Foundation from 2021 through 2026, when under his leadership, the PAN Foundation and Patient Advocate Foundation announced a strategic merger to expand services, simplify access, and reach millions more facing the growing healthcare access and affordability crisis.
Prior to the merger, Kevin’s leadership resulted in the PAN Foundation expanding its mission beyond financial assistance to include advocacy and education, building out its research capabilities, and leading efforts around major policy reforms that expanded access to care for patients. During his tenure, PAN was named to Fast Company’s Brands that Matter List, honored with Charity Navigator’s inaugural Community Choice Award, and recognized as a top charity by both Forbes and the Nonprofit Times.
Prior to joining PAN, Kevin served as the founder, executive chairman, and CEO of Thrive Impact, a consulting firm that helps nonprofit organizations by supporting their leadership teams in the areas of organizational strategy, leadership and governance, and revenue diversification.
Before founding Thrive Impact, Kevin led significant growth and transformation efforts for several highly respected national and international nonprofits, serving as CEO of the American Diabetes Association, president and CEO of Feed the Children, and chief operating officer of Good360.
At the American Diabetes Association, Kevin guided the organization in the creation of a new strategic plan framework and launched a new operational model that helped monetize their intellectual property through business divisions focused on consumer programs, products, and professional services. During his tenure at Feed the Children, Kevin defined a new international and domestic strategy, introduced new programming, and launched an advocacy program office that quickly became respected in the domestic and international hunger relief field.
Prior to his nonprofit service, Kevin served as head of public affairs and communications and oversaw philanthropic efforts for US Foods, North America’s second largest food distributor. He joined US Foods after more than a decade of national-level management roles at the United States Postal Service.
Kevin is also active on the board of directors for multiple nonprofit organizations and universities. He is currently a member of the board of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, and he also serves as chair of the group’s governance and nominating committee. He is also a director of Family Connections-Communities in School and the Mercer University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Alumni Board. He previously served on the board of directors for the National Health Council, World Neighbors, American Association of Mediators and the Academy of Hope Public Charter School.
Kevin holds a master’s degree in international affairs from American University and undergraduate degrees in political science, history, and German from Mercer University.
