John L. Murphy is a founding member of the Board of Directors of Patient Advocate Foundation and National Patient Advocate Foundation. He currently serves as Chairperson of the Finance Committee for both organizations. He served as both a Managing Member and former Chief Operating Officer of Saguenay Capital, LLC., a hedge fund and financial advisory firm located in Purchase, New York through his retirement in 2015. Before joining Saguenay, he was one of the founding members of Cove Harbor Partners, LLC, a private investment and consulting firm located in Stamford, Ct. There he was active as an investor, director, and consultant with a number of Cove Harbor’s investments, prior that he spent his professional career at Bankers Trust Company. During his tenure there he held a number of senior and executive management positions across a number of business lines, including Corporate Banking and Finance, Private Banking and Asset Management, and the firm’s sales and trading, financing, and risk management businesses. Mr. Murphy is a graduate of Dartmouth College and earned his Master of Business Administration from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
