Information for patients
What to anticipate from the integrated Patient Advocate Foundation and launch of TotalAssist for our patients and their caregivers

Current grant recipients
If you are currently receiving financial assistance from either Patient Advocate Foundation or the PAN Foundation, there is no immediate change to your care or services.
To manage your current grant, please visit your original organization and continue to use the same contact/call center, portal, and process at this time. There are no changes to your grant funds for grants that are current prior to July 1, 2026.
Our integration efforts are ongoing. We will provide clear and helpful guidance to our community on what to expect well in advance of any changes to processes and your online patient portal.
Renewing grants or applying for additional assistance
If your current grant expires and you want to renew before July 1, 2026, or you want to apply for additional benefits before that date, we encourage you to apply as per the usual process through your legacy organization: Patient Advocate Foundation’s Co-Pay Relief Program or PAN Foundation.
To manage your current grant, please visit your original organization and continue to use the same portal. To apply for financial assistance before July 1, we encourage you to apply at either organization if the fund you need is open.
TotalAssist and new grants
All new grant applications starting July 1 will be through TotalAssist
Beginning July 1, 2026, Patient Advocate Foundation will launch TotalAssist, the nation’s largest charitable patient assistance program. All new financial assistance applications at Patient Advocate Foundation, starting on July 1, 2026, will be through our TotalAssist program. Check out the TotalAssist launch timeline for details.
Ahead of the transition, we will provide clear and helpful guidance on what to expect regarding processes and your portal.
How TotalAssist can help you
- The great news is that TotalAssist will include over 130 disease-specific and health equity financial assistance funds—from cancer and rare diseases to chronic and complex illnesses.
- All the current funds through Patient Advocate Foundation and PAN Foundation will be available with TotalAssist.
- When TotalAssist launches on July 1, 2026, fund eligibility may change with patient access in mind. We will continue to update our TotalAssist page and help center as information is released.
- TotalAssist allows patients to apply their grant toward multiple out-of-pocket healthcare costs, including medication copays, coinsurance, and deductibles, health insurance premiums, office visit charges the day of treatment, and administration charges related to treatment.
